Wilgenhof 1983-1984
After completeing my "Bakkie Bok" I spent a year travelling in Europe. On my return I got involved in management consulting in agriculture (Grabouw, Hex River, Citrusdal etc)marking time before going back to the Eastern Cape to begin a career in farming. Thats about the time of one of the worst droughts in history so I decided to convert. I enrolled at UCT to do a part time B.Com (Hons) in Financial Management.
Shortly after that I joined Old Mutual (on the advice of Hendrik du Toit) where I remained for three years.
In 1993 I left to, with a partner, establish Sterling Financial Services, a company specialising in investment consulting to retirement funds, health care and employee benefit consulting to corporates. We have recently established a compliance company to aid financial advisors in complying with the new FAIS Bill. I am married to Michelle and have two children Kyle (born 1991) and Emma (born 1993)
